Paris, 27 May 2013: ACA-Europe’s General Assembly
On 27 May 2013, the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union (ACA-Europe) held its General Assembly, chaired by Mr Jean-Marc Sauvé, Vice-President of the Council of State of France and President of ACA-Europe, assisted by Mr Yves Kreins, Secretary-General of ACA-Europe.
The annual meeting took place in the General Assembly chamber of the Council of State of France.
Projects associated with the databases managed by the association were addressed, the 2013 schedule for working visits by judges was adopted, and ACA-Europe's 2012 budget was approved in light of the approval received from the Court of Audit of Belgium. The 2013 budget was also submitted to the General Assembly, as was ACA's funding within the framework of the multi-annual plans for 2014-2020, a point to which the association's 31 Member Courts and observers paid close attention.
ACA-Europe's activities throughout the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013 were discussed, namely the joint ACA-Europe-DG Environment seminar that took place on 23 November 2012 in the European Commission's Charlemagne building (Newsletter no. 29, which deals with the work performed at this seminar, was also distributed), and the seminar that took place at EFSA headquarters in Parma on 22 April 2013 in cooperation with DG SANCO and ReNEUAL, a network of professors of administrative law, on the role of administrative courts in the food safety procedures established at European Union level. The work performed at this seminar will be detailed in Newsletter no. 30. The seminar that took place on the following day, 28 May 2013 , focusing on efficient, high-quality administrative justice was briefly discussed, and the seminars taking place in the second half of 2013 in The Hague (under the auspices of the Council of State of the Netherlands) and Paris (under the auspices of the French Presidency of ACA-Europe) were approved and their respective themes adopted.
Lastly, the application for observer membership of ACA-Europe submitted by the Supreme Court of Montenegro was approved by the General Assembly.
