The Hague, 23 November 2011: Farewell dinner in honour of Herman Tjeenk Willink
On 23 November 2011, on the eve of the seminar in The Hague about the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, ACA-Europe held a dinner in honour of Herman Tjeenk Willink to mark his retirement. Vice-President of the Council of State of the Netherlands, he was also the President of the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union from 2002 to 2004. In his speech, Mr Tjeenk Willink thanked ACA-Europe for everything it had done for him and stressed the organisation's key role in the European integration process.
As ACA-Europe Secretary-General Yves Kreins stressed in a tribute speech, Mr Tjeenk Willink has left a deep impression on the organisation with his efficient, innovating work and will remain both a pioneer and a role model for everyone.
