Paris, 27 May 2013: Meeting with Ms Christiane Taubira, Keeper of the Seals, the Minister of Justice of the French Republic
Ms Christiane Taubira, the Minister of Justice of the French Republic, hosted all of the presidents and representatives of ACA-Europe's member councils of state and supreme administrative courts at the Hôtel de Bourvallais , the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice. After Mr Jean-Marc Sauvé, the President of the association, gave a presentation of ACA-Europe, Ms Taubira spoke to express her interest in the initiative taken by the Councils of State of Belgium and Italy 50 years ago to unite the supreme administrative courts of what was then the common market on a bilateral basis to address all transversal issues that could help to improve how the countries' respective institutions operated. She was delighted to see the extent to which this innovative idea had progressed and the fact that it unites supreme administrative courts from EU Member States as well as from some candidate countries and other countries of the EEA, meaning that ACA-Europe now comprises 33 members, including the CJEU. Lastly, she stressed that ACA-Europe will be important for Europe in the future when the time comes to introduce the legal regulatory instruments that have been adopted.
